The Magpies who seem to just fly under the radar are gearing up for another English Premier League season in which manager, Alan Pardew, will look to make improvements in the table. It has been a long time since a team not named Manchester United, Manchester City or Chelsea has won the title and this season is shaping up to see the norm occur once again. At the beginning of the year, there may be some teams that start off on a run early but burn out half way into the season. Newcastle United will probably start strong and fall behind the giants in the league.

After the first league match against Manchester City, Newcastle United plays Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Southampton, Hull City and Stoke City. Four games are completely winnable out of those five which could result in Newcastle atop the table early in the season.

One of the main things holding Newcastle back is the lack of a true leader. The Magpies have some young talent but does that translate into leadership? I don’t think so. With experience comes leadership and I don’t see that on the roster. All the talent on Newcastle comes from either France or the Netherlands and some of the top names on the team also competed in the 2014 World Cup. Daryl Janmaat, Tim Krul, Moussa Sissoko and Remy Cabella are the players that will allow Newcastle to excel this season. These four players are young and are exciting to watch and have the ability to allow the Magpies to compete with the top clubs.

Newcastle’s key player will Papiss Cisse, the Senegal forward, who has been able to score most of Newcastle’s goal since his arrival in 2012. Newcastle has not been able to make any huge splashes in the transfer window which could limit the Magpies. With that said, Newcastle is predicted to finish ninth in the league this season, an improvement from last season.
