Last season, Tottenham finished sixth in the English Premier League. Historically, the highest Tottenham has finished in the Premier League is fourth and has been around the cusp of that achievement since the millennium. The Spurs will see a top-half finish due to the talent at the club.

Recently in the news, Tottenham has been linked to the transfer of American defender, DeAndre Yedlin which has put the Spurs into the talks of many English soccer analysts. However, without Yedlin, Spurs will be fine due to the transfer of Ben Davies and Eric Dier to help out the defense. Along with Dier and Davies, Tottenham has Kyle Walker, Jan Vertonghen and Danny Rose. However, many of the defenders have been known to have inconsistent spells while at Tottenham.

The midfield and attack is easily Tottenham’s best asset. Last season, they secured the services of Paulinho, Erik Lamela and Roberto Soldado. Along with these three players, Tottenham also has Aaron Lennon and Christian Eriksen. Both Lennon and Eriksen will allow Spurs to compete with any team in the English Premier League.

It has been said that Tottenham is where players go to die because of the stiff competition and the lack of silverware captured by the club. I suppose that’s a fair assumption but it needs to be clarified. The lack of trophies is due the competition at the top of the table. Due to the new and improved Manchester United as well as the improving Everton, Tottenham will end up seventh in the table but will excel in the Europa League, however. Tottenham has the depth to stretch the roster out for both the league and tournament.
