EPL Match Preview: Arsenal vs. Crystal Palace

Arsenal has a great chance to make a run at the title this season and that’s at the efforts of Arsene Wenger and the transfers that came into Arsenal. First off, Arsenal improved its attack by bringing in winger, Alexis Sanchez, who has been impressive this preseason. Arsenal vs. Crystal Palace will probably end up in an Arsenal victory due to the lack of a manager and world-class talent on the Crystal Palace side.

Arsenal just lost captain and stand-out central defender, Thomas Vermaelen to FC Barcelona, but Wenger brought in Calum Chambers and Mathieu Debuchy to compensate for the loss of the Belgium. Chambers will more than likely asked to start alongside Laurent Koscielny in the middle in the first game of the season until Per Mertesacker returns from injury. Arsenal will be without Mertesacker, Theo Walcott and Serge Gnabry, which will affect Arsenal offensively and defensively. However, in this case, it will not really hurt Arsenal due to the quality of the competition.

Crystal Palace was dealt a huge blow when manager Tony Pulis quit after built-up frustration over the front office’s inability to sign any players that can improve the club. However, the defense would be getting a strong defender in Martin Kelly as long as injuries don’t hold Kelly back. Pulis was influential last season by carrying Palace into eleventh place and avoiding relegation after being predicted to fall short last season. Without Pulis, Crystal Palace will not have a strong managerial presence which will simply affect the club going into this season’s campaign.

Arsenal’s lineup is too strong for Crystal Palace and could be one of the best in the league. The attack is way to strong and if this game is similar to the one against Manchester City in the Community Shield, Arsenal will be all over Palace from start to end. I predict Arsenal will win 3-0 over Crystal Palace.
