Ever since the 2014 World Cup ended, Seattle Sounders right back DeAndre Yedlin has been the talk of the town (league). It was all but confirmed that he was on his way to AS Roma of Serie A. Here we are a month later and Yedlin is still a member of the Seattle Sounders and an MLS star.

Yedlin, who will be making his second all-star appearance on Wednesday, is still the starting right back for the Sounders. Yedlin has been good at deflecting the attention of the possible transfer whenever he speaks with the media. It doesn’t mean that he still isn’t getting asked the question all the time.

“Just kind of take it as it comes,” Yedlin told MLSsoccer.com after the Sounders’ 1-0 loss to San Jose on Saturday, of how he’s dealing with the speculation surrounding his future. “If the situation’s right, then maybe I leave. If the situation will be better to stay, then maybe I stay. If the situation is to stay for good, then maybe I stay for good. But I don’t really know right now, so we’ll see.”

He didn’t stray from the narrative when speaking to the media on Monday at the all-star game

“Yeah, I think so,” he told MLSsoccer.com when asked if his situation was still in limbo. “We’re still trying to figure out what the best situation for me will be. We’re still in talks and talks with my agent. We’ll see. Hopefully something gets figured out soon.”

In the meantime Yedlin is doing all he can to keep his focus on the current season with the Sounders

“[I’ll] just try to focus on what I’m doing right now,” he added. “Focus on Seattle, focus on MLS Cup those are my goals right now and that’s all I can focus on.”

He was selected for the Homegrown game on Monday although he did not play as he was also selected for the all-star game on Wednesday. Yedlin was introduced to the fans and tweeted the experience.

“Thank you @mls and @ChipotleTweets for having me at the #homegrownallstargame! And thank you to the @timbersarmy for not booing to loud!”

As a Seattle fan I wish there would be a resolution to this matter. Is he going to go or is he going to stay? I know he is professional and he is letting his agent do most of the talking. Obviously I would love for Yedlin to stay in Seattle but as I have told all of my friends and colleagues, he has to do what is best for him and his family.
